The People Who Make it Happen

Our Mission

The mission of the Franklin-Simpson Community Arts Council is to produce and promote visual and performing arts for the entertainment, enrichment and education of the residents of Franklin and Simpson County. The Arts Council strives to provide and encourage the cultivation of personal artistic endeavors in the citizens of our area. For over 35 years we have had a history of service to our  community through the many fields of the arts and frequently we work with other groups when we have a common goal that will benefit our community.

Brownie Bennett, Executive Director

Brownie Bennett became the Franklin-Simpson Community Arts Council Executive Director in May of 2014. She hit the floor running and hasn't stopped since. Her main goal has been to draw as many new people to local theater as well as honoring continuing connections. She's proud to say she's had at least one or more new people participate in every production since she began. During Brownie's tenure to date, the Arts Council has put on five summer musical productions, four dinner theaters, four children's musicals, three main stage comedies, four concerts and three community Christmas Concerts as well as bringing Kentucky Shakespeare to Franklin! She loves her job and has big plans for the Arts Council!
